Hi everyone,
I am interested in pursuing a career in Nursing and am trying to figure out my best gameplan. I have a Bachelor's degree in Business from MSU Mankato. I worked in the business field for a couple of years and decided that it wasn't for me. I am currently working in Research at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. I get to work with Research participants and am very good with people. My wife is currently an RN and is going to school to be a Geriatric Nurse Practioner. She will be done with school this spring. We will most likely be moving to the Twin Cities because that is where the job opportunities are for her. I would like to go back to school when we move to the cities. My wife says that I should get my BSN rather than associate's in nursing. I have been doing a little research and it looks like Metro State might be a good option for me up there. Although I heard a rumor that their BS to BSN program might not be around for long, any truth to that? Any other school options up there that I should look at? I will need to take most if not all of the pre-reqs because I didn't need to take them for my business degree. I will probably wait to start taking pre-reqs until we move to the cities. I am thinking about being a CNA while going to school. Does anyone have any thoughts about the CNA program? Where is a good program? How long does it take? This is all very overwhelming for me! But I think I should get a gameplan in place before moving up there. Any help would be much appreciated.

Check out the Accelerated RN program at Mankato State. Nearly all of our clinicals were in the cities. It is a good program and last year they also had a 100% NCLEX pass rate.
It doesn't sound like the post baccalaureate BSN is going away at Metrostate.
