Looking for advice about nursing programs

Published

Hello,

I need some advice. I graduated last year with a B.A. in Public Health from UCI and until now I have been taking pre reqs to apply to nursing school. I want to do an ADN program and become an RN as fast as possible (without drowning myself more in debt than I already am). I recently moved to northern California, does anyone have any recommendations about where I should be applying or what I should be doing while waiting to be accepted into a program. And do you think my Public Health degree will help me any way in the future? Just looking for any advice on what to do, thanks!

Im gonna say you should probably try some Accelerated BSN programs instead of the ADN's...if you already have a Bachelors degree then you may be accepted into a program in order to speed up the process

Look for an ABSN program, or possibly an Entry-Level MSN program. If that doesn't work, look for a 4 year that's accepting 2nd Bachelor's Students. Your 1st Degree will help ensure that all you have to do is the program itself, with little else. If all that "fails" you can apply to ADN programs and know that your degree will exempt you from quite a bit, thus all you'd basically have to take is the program courses.

In short, since you have a Bachelor's, ABSN, BSN, and ADN programs will all be 2 years or less, once you start.
