Lonestar RN 2013 Applications

Hi, I am planning on applying to the upcoming Lonestar RN program. Applications open January 16, 2013, is anyone else out there applying?

I will be applying with a score of 10.98, it is low but I am hoping its high enough to get into one of the four campuses! I am considering retaking the HESI for a higher score but I am nervous I might score lower in the English and just drop my score.

I also will be applying. I'm in the same boat as you but I have seen lower get in to previous programs so fingers crossed:)) Do you have a preference as to which one?

Oh hello! I am glad you responded! Its so nice to hear from others and support each other through the process! My top choice campus would be Cyfair as I am just down the road, then Tomball, North Harris, and Montgomery. I think North harris accepts some 100 students, so my chances of getting in there are the best. Though I had a friend apply for Cyfair for this Spring and got wait listed with a 10.9 so there is hope! She declined so she could do the Quest program, so not sure if she would have got in or not.

What about yourself? Hopefully we will both get in somewhere! It is going to be a long 3 month wait!

I have yet to submit mine, the online app only gives you 2 choices for campuses. I was hoping you could choose all 4 and rank in order of your desired campus. So I have some thinking to do, I will probably submit for Cyfair and Horth Harris.

Yeah, being able to select all 4 would increase your chance of getting accepted as well but its only 1st/2nd pick. So I know its a hard decision and I wish you well and hope that we will make the cut.

I have seen in past threads that people have ranked all four campuses in order. Maybe they changed it since then. Oh well. I am now debating retaking the Hesi to increase my chances, but don't want to risk a lower score.

I also filled out my online app and was given 4 choices! I wonder why you guys were not able to chose all 4? How weird! You may want to bring that up to a nursing advisor. I am applying with an 11.2 and shared in a different thread that i went to an info session and was told that montgomery cut off was 11.2-11.4 and north harris was an 8.6 this past year! Seems to be really low but gives me hope of getting in to somewhere. I need to get my Hep B shot on Friday and then will hand deliver my app! Best wished to everyone :)

1st choice- montgomery

2nd- north harris

3rd- tomball

4th- cy fair

If anyone is considering retaking their hesi but worried about a low score..send me a personal email to [email protected] and i will send you a little review i made myself. I took the HESI twice and scored high on English both times but did a lot better the second time (90-91s on all english sections) I have sent it to 2 friends from high school and both have done fairly well also. Not saying its because of my help but i am just trying to help!

I just logged on and was able to choose all four campuses now!

Hi guys!! I'm also applying for the spring ADN program! I have an 11.65 Does anyone know all the cut off scores for the schools? I would like to get into Montgomery but wasn't sure if my score will be high enough!! Also i was only getting 2 choices as well for picking what schools.. i wonder how everyone else was getting 4? Anyone have any ideas?

Also dose anyone know if it messes you up if you already turned in your hard copy app, but then decided to change your 1st choice campuses. Im hoping as long as you resbmit your hard copy information again to the new campus it should be ok hopefully?

Welcome to the forum Jessi29! As far as changing your first choice campus and resubmitting your app I am not sure about. I have seen on past forums people resubmitting hard copies because of retaking the Hesi, I would just ask your first choice campus! Your score is definitely high enough to get into Montgomery! I think you would get into any campus with that score! Another user posted the cut off's for Montgomery last application period were 11.2 - 11.4. I am not sure why you can only choose 2 campuses, I could only choose 2 at first and then I logged back on a few days later and was able to choose 4. I ranked my choices Cyfair, Tomball, North Harris, and Montgomery in that order. I live right next to Cyfair and am hoping to make the alternate list with my 10.9 score, I feel 75% positive I will at least make it at North Harris!

About a month until Applications close! Long wait but we will make it!

I actually got a phone call from the nursing director today and apparently when the application first open online there was a 20 min glitch. So they fixed everything for me and now my first choice is Montgomery then Tomball, cyfair and north Harris! Now we play the waiting game! Good luck to you as well!
