a little help

hey guys-first time long time. i will be graduating in 2 mnths and will be getting in a icu or ccu. i have experience as a nurse extern in a level 1 sticu, but don't know 1/4 of what the rn know. I was wondering what your thoughts are of me getting in any crna school. gpa is 3.06 / gre 900. i recieved a f for maternity.mother baby class but redid it and recieved a b. i played college soccer up to my junor year and was a bit of a jock. i refocused my priorities but feel i shot myself in the foot already. is it possible to apply with standings such as these and get in a school 1-2 years after icu/ccu experience? thanks guys.

My advice is this: apply with the 3.06. Study your butt off for the GRE and get a phenomenal score- you'll need it to overshadow the low GPA. Decide what CRNA schools interest you, and go meet with their directors. Lay it out on the table about being a college athlete, and how it was a big distracter from school. Let them get to know you before they ever see your name on an application. I also recommend taking a graduate level course that'll you be able to use for credit almost anywhere. Maybe a physio class, or theory. And get an A, no matter what it takes. That'll prove you're capable of graduate level work, despite an undergrad GPA of 3.06. Best of luck!!!

1. Strut your smarts by taking some graduate coursework and doing exceptionally well.

2. Study, study, study, and study some more for the GRE.

3. Get the best ICU experience that you can get.

If you don't have it all, then you need to maximize what you've got. Good luck!
