Licensed Practical Nurse

I would like to know where Licensed practical nurses can obtain training for a position in quality Assurance; chart review and case management.I have performed several searches; and i continue to see that quality management and Quality Assurance positions are for the R.N. There are agencies that will hire you for non patient contact visits.i am interested in obtaining self study courses for me online to familiarize me with the qualifications required in this field. Can i not take the courses that are specifically for R.Ns just to learn; and not be certified?I have recent experience in hospice and past experience in Long Term care and Hospital.Where can i get trained? i have made patient visits through hospice;in facilities and Home settings.

I would think that if there are agencies willing to hire LVNs/LPNs then they are also the ones who are willing to train them. Therefore, look at the agencies for such opportunities. My guess, however, is that you will have a hard time finding one these days. Agencies around the country are not hiring nurses without RN licenses. My thinking is that not only are agencies all over the country moving away from hiring LVN/LPN Nurse Case Managers, but they are also moving toward 100% of their nurses obtaining a BSN and being certified (ACM and/or CCM). So, if you really want to become a Case Manager, you may want to better your chances with a RN license and BSN degree. The ACM or CCM cert you can obatin after gaining Case Management work experince. Good luck!
