Learning and Helping Abroad

Specializes in Pediatric RN, FNP-BC.

I have a 2 part question. I will graduate as an FNP in 2 months (YAY!) and am interested in beginning to do short-term volunteer, medical missions as part of my career journey. I can't do long term as I still have 2 kiddos at home. I realize the world is still battling and recovering from COVID, but I am just looking ahead.

1) Does anyone know (or have been involved with) any reputable mission groups that have 1-3 week volunteer opportunities for nurse practitioners? Faith-based okay too as long as medical component.

2) Has anyone done any diploma or coursework abroad that they recommend? For example, there is a tropical diseases nursing course in Liverpool.
