Sure, there's a nursing shortage, then why did I get layed off yesterday due to a Reduction in Force.:angryfire I'm new to this forum, but unlike some of my coworkers, I'm not out pounding the pavement ... I'm getting all that's coming to me ... and yes, I need an attitude adjustment. Open to suggestions.

How many were laid off? Just a thought, it wouldnt have anything to do with your needing an attitude adjustment would it? I am sorry this happened, and i know the stress it can cause but keep your head up.
Move on, im sure if they are reducing their staff the bottom line is they are readying themselves to close permanently. You may not know the full story. What kind of facility is this? That may make the story a bit more clear.
Jobs are out there.

I would be guessing a for profit hospital.

Yes, it was a for profit hospital and wasn't profiting.
