Hello! I was wondering if anyone could tell me your opinion on the kaplan book. I have seen post on here about the kaplan reveiw, but how is the book you buy from the book store. It's blue the newest edition i think. My friend and i just purchased it and it has pretty good questions and make us think. So i was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion of it. Did it help you? Or a waste of money? Thanks!!!

I would read it from cover to cover, if you have time. Kaplan teaches you how to read the question and figure out what exactly they are looking for in the answer. You use a process of elimination to narrow down the choices. Many of the questions in the book have shown up on my online Kaplan Review course.

Thank you so much for the advice. Yes i have time, i will do whatever it takes to pass this dang test. It will be my second time and i am determined to pass. If you have any more advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!!

I didn't take the Kaplan course, but I did read that book and did all of the questions. The questions in the book and on the CD were good critical thinking questions. I re-read the strategy chapters 2 days ago and I took my test today. Honestly, the strategies were helpful for all of the practice questions I did, but I did not use them AT ALL on the NCLEX. I'm so glad I did not waste my money on the Kaplan Course!! I Didn't use Maslow once! The questions just were not the type that you could use a strategy on. They were more content based.

HI. I just took NCLEX and honestly I thought kaplan didnt help...I would do suzanne's plan...Kaplan is a bit too vague and I couldnt apply any strategy to the test!
Thanks so much. I hear alot about Suzanne's plan how much is her plan and how do i get info on it. I'm new to this site so i don't know much. The first time i took the test i did the hurst reveiw and i learned alot but obviously it didn't get me the results i wanted. But i think alot of it was my nerves and lack of confidence.

Her plan is free but it does take a commitment from you. Suzanne is doing it out of the goodness of her heart. Look at the stickies on the top of this forum, and you will see her instructions on what you need to do. Allow at least six weeks after you finish step 1.
I still have a few semesters to go, but I'm definitely looking at doing her plan ahead of any of the others.
