SO i failed NCLEX on my first try and i ended at 176 questions. When i got my hard copy results it stated nearly passing in all my categories and one stated above passing. I then decided to take KAPLAN Q bank online... i answered about 1300 questions. When i first started Kaplan i was getting 48 constantly to the point i wanted to cry. Now i have improved and consistently hit 50 65 and 66. You guys think this will go over well on test day?
I had used Hurst the first time around and feel that it didnt help at all. Its just a book and they basically tell u to memorize it. It doesnt teach strategy and well we all know the content over 4 years of hardwork... so i guess i chose the wrong review. However getting back to my concern... you guys think i will be kay?

What are your question trainer scores, Diagnostic, and Readiness?
If you feel strategies were more of the reason why you didn't pass rather than content, then I feel as though Kaplan is good for questions. But you really need to make sure you have a strong content background and strategies as well.
Are you consistently hitting over 60% now in all of the client categories (ie Management of Care, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Reduction of Risk Potential)?

I agree with @TooProudtoMention, I used Kaplan On Demand and passed with 75 questions on my first try. I felt that the questions on Kaplan were much harder but it was beneficial because it enhanced my critical thinking. If test taking strategies was the reason you didnt pass, than I suggest you brush up on your content. :) Good luck and don't give up. You can do this. :)

I took Kaplan and passed in 75. I'm not sure if its Kaplan that helped me of doing questions everyday for a month before the test, but I will say Kaplan questions were similar. You will be fine.. Just keep doing questions! Good luck future RN :)

The questions from Kaplan are written similar to what you will see on the NCLEX. I failed my NCLEX the first time because I didn't know the test taking strategy. I thought since I did ATI in school, the boards would be like ATI.....and they weren't. Even Kaplan says the NCLEX is much different than any other test. I studied Kaplan, read and re-read the testing techniques, and passed my boards Friday.
OP, if you feel you are ready, go for it. Those scores look good. When I did my boards the first time, I got near passing in everything. I reviewed just the book (didn't pay for the qbank) and passed my second time with 112 questions. Remember, in order to pass your boards, you have to score above passing in all areas. Good luck!
Similar in the context of how they were written. I didn't have any exact kaplan questions or anything but as I was taking the nclex, it felt like I was taking a kaplan quiz. I did get 3 obvious content questions, one towards the end which scared me, but it still shut off at 75!
