Anyone ever work at this facility? Am up for an er travel job. Have worked the last 2 contracts in kaiser facility so am aware of the "kaiser way". Had to jump through many hoops with AMN taking over , now it seems the nurse manager wants to interview everyone. Supposed to be a 2/1 start and still waiting for the manager to call. Any info would be helpful, thanks in advance

so in interviewed for this job and apparently i couldn't start soon enough for them, but i decided i wasn't going to go for it anyway. apparently it is 20 minutes from the most dangerous place in the States. they (meaning American Mobile who are now doing all the interviewing for Kaiser I hear) had NO info on that ER. not even visits per year or bed numbers or anything. no salary. sounded pretty sketchy so i was going to turn it down even if i got the offer. i only interviewed with AM. even though i have another recruiter. not sure what is going on there but i am curious to hear the end result!

this facility is new - actually Kaiser Bellflower hosp is the one it replaced-did a contract at bellflower not a pleasant experience.

Amn does the same type interview that Nursefinders did. Anyway interviewed was told I sounded like a "perfect fit". Amn sent everything to Downey, they got the message that the nurse manager wanted to interview everyone. I thought this was a little odd since I never interviewed with a nurse manager from Kaiser before-finally today got a call from my company-they called AMN and wanted to know when this interview was supposed to take place and they finally got a hold of him he said Oh I did some switching around and I don't need a traveler after all. Nice of him to let people know. So no contract with them-very serious doubt I would ever consider a contract with that facility period. AMN rates are definitely lower than Nursefinders-another reason I am becoming hesitant in taking another Kaiser contract. Heard it was a busy ER from other people I worked with at anaheim.

Any place is 20 min away from a "bad" area. This hospital is actually 20 min away from Disneyland.

I am new to this forum and i still trying to get the hang of this posting thing. but i am really curious as to how your experience ended up in Downey. I myself am getting my first travel assignment in a Kaiser facility. I know the pay is nowhere near where id like it to be, but i know that Kaiser will accept newbie travelers and I just want to get an assignment under my belt, then go on from there. Do any of you guys know about housing/apt around the hospital areas? about how much is the cost of living? including utilities. any info is helpful. I am in TX and don't know CA at all. Have only visited San Diego. Thank you guys in advance. like i said, this is a little hard for me to figure out lol email me if possible at [email protected]. :nurse:

I am currently working this facility, and it is by far one of the worst assignments I've had. I heard Kaiser was a great place, but that was not my experience.

They do not have CNA's, you are a nurse, CNA, dietician, and PT.

The money is not worth it.
