Just need to vent

I just worked a 3-11 shift as a Nurse Partner on a Med-Surg floor we are treated as Techs. I was so mad I got to work and found out I had 19 patients. I thinks that is just not right and I even had to do some of the day tech job like when you have breakfest, lunch and dinner trays that you have to chart somethings wrong and all the foley's that I emptied had 2000 cc they didn't due there part. I have only been there since December. I just want to get the nursing experience I work as a Nurse Parnter at another hospital I can only work there 8 hours a week they do not pay well at all. I am a nursing student in my 3rd semester. I don't know what to do I didn't know if I should call the nurse recurter tommarrow and try to transfer I only work there 2 days a month. Just needed to vent. :angryfire Thanks

Perfectly understandable vent. 19 patients on an evening shift in med-surg for a tech is entirely too many, especially when you've got to play clean up.
