I am currently in my 2nd year of college. I was originally accepted under a double major of Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. I have always wanted to go into the medical field (doctor or nurse). But the summer of my senior year in high school I made a rash decision to change to engineering. After not passing two classes (one per semester), my GPA went plunging and I lost confidence in myself.
I was strong in Chemistry and Biology in high school and I always enjoyed those classes. I decided to switch to pre-nursing but unfortunately due to my GPA (2.448), I was not accepted to join Pre-Nursing. Over this past summer, I took General Biology at CSUSB and received an A (raising my GPA to 2.609). Only looking at the nursing prerequisite courses, I will have a 3.4-3.5 GPA (currently).
I am currently back in CSULB undeclared taking prerequisite courses needed to apply to other nursing schools. I am currently taking Chemistry this semester. I will still need to take Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, and Statistics.
I know that general university applications are currently up and running. They will be due soon (November 30 for CSU) and I know that I have to apply to the general university before applying to their nursing program. Should I apply now for general university transfer for next year (Fall 2015)? Should I go to a CC (Fall 2015) to retake some classes to raise my GPA? When should I take my TEAS V? I seem to have pieces of information about the BSN process but I just don't feel like I have the whole picture yet. I also talked to an undergraduate advisor and she recommended that I have the best chances if I were to go out-of-state. What are some high acceptance rate schools in California? Out-Of-State?

You must check the nursing programs you're interested in and see what their policy is on retaking courses. Some will allow it some won't and if they do, how many times. Read up on this before retaking courses.
The teas will test you on anatomy, physiology, microbiology, chemistry, biology. I think I read somewhere that some people didn't take all the anatomy, physio or micro before taking the teas test and did fine. But if you do take it without going through the course it may be somewhat confusing? you should take the teas when you know you are going to be ready to apply to the nursing program. So by that time you'll have prereqs done and study for some amount of time for the teas(don't take it without in depth studying).
This person'a post has been used by many for guidance on studying for the teas https://allnurses.com/teas-exam-help/how-i-passed-804222.html
