Just accepted--question about clinicals/program

Hello everyone-

I'm new around here. I just found this site a few days ago and am glad to find such a resource!!

I was just accepted to the ADN pgm at Lee College in Baytown. Because I work full time, I am wondering what sort of time requirements/commitments (not including studying) should I expect my first semester? For a given clinical rotation, how many hours per week are spent at the site?

I will start the program in the fall and need to start preparing my boss, who thus far has been supportive. Fortunately, I have some flexibility, but am concerned as to how to balance my schedule in the fall.

Thanks in advance!

Congrats!

I completed my prereq's at Lee, so I know a many of the nursing students have gone there. I would recommend trying to find some current students, Allnurse.com does not have many/ if any posts about Lee.

The President of the Nursing Club at Lee is a wonderful person; if you can get ahold of her, I know she would be more than willing to answer any of your questions.

I would also suggest that you find which instructors to take. From what I have heard, there are some instructors that are less desireable (not sure which ones). Last year there were students that camped out at the school to be first in line to register for classes..... I find this crazy, but they wanted to ensure they had a particular instructor.

Many of my friends have been happy with the program, but also emphasize it is unorganized (but I think many RN programs are unorganized).

Thanks for the reply and information. I'm really excited and terrified all at the same time. Nonetheless, I'm really looking forward to starting the program!

Best regards!
