Job Question

How long does it take before you get a call for a interview for a hosptial? I applied to two jobs in Providence Hospital however have not heard anything from them. So should I give up and think they will never call me. :( I hear you have to know someone to get in..is that true?

i don't know specifics about providence but as a general rule, if you haven't heard anything from them after two weeks you should follow up with a call and ask if your applications have been received. many hr departments are highly disorganized and things do get lost, forgotten or ignored. it is considered proper protocol to follow up so don't feel like they will think you are desperate, begging or pushy.

And if the above post doesn't work just call the unit you are interested in. I did that and asked what the DONs name was and then called her myself. I told her of my experience and interest in the unit. She set up an interview with me while we were on that call. She then tracked down my application and went from there.

I agree, call HR 1st, but this is another good option!
