Job offer

I Accepted a job in another state based on my husbands acceptance of a job in that state. Today we found out his offer was rescinded , so he will keep is current job. How do I back out politely and not cause hard feelings. So far only the contract was signed no credentialing started , don't even have my license in that state . Can I be taken to court for backing out . I'm pretty upset at this point and don't know what to do .

Just found this thread...I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see any reason why you would be taken to court for backing out after accepting an offer unless you received some sort of signing bonus or other compensation in advance of your start date. If you did receive a signing bonus or some other compensation and have already cashed the check you should simply repay the amount and call it a day. Otherwise don't worry about it.
