JJC Nursing Program: Fall of 2015

Hi, ya'll! I just thought I would try to connect with any other hopefuls that are going to attempt to be accepted into JJC's Nursing program for Fall of 2015. Was curious as to how you are all feeling about your possibility of being accepted. (I.e teas score, pre-reqs, gpa, etc.)

Hope to meet some new friends to share this journey with! Any other "seasoned" nursing students that read this, care to shed some light on what I should be preparing myself for?

Monac ( from this thread) ROCKED her Teas test with an 87. She has a 4.0 and all pre-reqs completed. I got an 81 on my Teas, and also have a 4.0 and all pre-reqs completed. I've only heard from one other girl, and I believe her score was a 74, but I'm not 100%. I have not heard of ANY other scores, so I have NO idea what the averages are looking to be. Is this your first time applying? It's my first time, so I am unsure how most of this works. I was told we can call after the 15th to ask how many people applied, but I'm not sure if they'll have average scores yet as they will be just putting all of the files together.

Wow..that's awesome! Yes this is my 1st time applying so we'll see. I think you definitely are in with your scores!

You just never know. There's always such a large number of applicants, but for all we know 50% could have scored a 45 on their TEAS. You know what I mean? We did the best we can, and now we have no other option but to sit and wait! :( When I was accepted into the Radiology program a few years back, I had gotten in with a 79. They told us the average score was a 72 and we were the "best of the best". Just goes to show that you never know what the average scores are! I wish you the best of luck!!!! If you read back on threads from last year, I believe one of the girls got in with a 67 on her TEAS. :)

Is anybody planning on calling today to ask how many applicants there were?

It's closed today. No one answered.

Ahhh kinda wondered if they would be closed.

It looks like the school is closed to classes during the day today, too, for an in-house faculty type thing. AHHHHHHHH

I just got on here to let you know that I just called and no one is available today either - and saw your post. ;-)

Great minds :) Thank you for thinking to update me, though!

Hello, this was my first time applying. I didn't do so hot on the teas, 65%. I didn't have much study time because I was in chemistry and had to study so much because I had a horrible teacher and taught myself everything by Google and you tube videos. Anyways, so with a horrible teas score and a 4.0gpa. I'm not sure what my odds are. Good luck to everyone that applied!!

Do you have all of your pre-reqs completed?

  • Author

It's hard to judge what our chances of getting in are. This wait is sooooo long! I know they look at TEAS composite, Teas Science, number of pre-reqs completed, and gpa from those pre-reqs.
