IV Stick on first try!!!!

I did my first IV start on a real person as opposed to the mannequins in lab.... and i got it in...+ the lady said it was minimal on the discomfort level!!!!! + the nurse had said the lady was a difficult stick!!! my Lucky day huh?

YAYYYYY!!!

oh and i know this may not always happen because everyone's veins are different etc etc ad infinitum!!!

but im still pumped!!!

so.....

Take a deep breath! it helps! + my instructor was super supportive before we got to the pt room!

I did my first IV this week too and it was no biggie! I think us nursing students intimidate ourselves way too much, making things appear more difficult than it is. I barely put the needle in and saw flashback -- bingo! Way easier than doing it on mannequins and I never thought I would say that.

congrats!! I too got it on the first try, lol to this day I got 24 and blew 4 and counting...

Yeah-we tend to intimidate each other about random stuff, but its still a rush with the IV's!

blew 1 and missed 1 today... so 24 - 6 now
