ISU Fast Track Program-Boise

U.S.A. Idaho

Published

I am considering the ISU fast track program in Boise, but like most people have other obligations. Could someone inform me the general daily and weekly schedule for the program once accepted to figure out if I could even schedule this program with work, other obligations, etc? Thanks.

I am starting the program in January. Follow the hyperlink below for the schedule. If you complete the Co-reqs ahead of time, the schedule is much better (Nutrition, Bioethics, Pharmacology).

Hello SqirleyNut!

I am going to be applying to this program myself. Do you have any tips, advise etc.? Was the program hard to get in and did you have to apply multiple times or anything like that? Any info would be great!. I am very excited about the potential as the short time frame is great.

Thanks!

Hi Mr.Tom.

Some advice.

1. Print off the application from the website and go step by step through it. It is pretty thorough. Make sure you have completed all the requirements needed before applying.

You can get it at ISU Fast Track Web Site.

2. Arrange an appointment NOW with Micki Goodwin, the program coordinator. Take your college transcript with you so she can make sure all of your classes match up. The secretaries email is [email protected]

3. Entrance is purely based off pre-req GPA and the TEAS test. Buy the book offered by ATI (ATI's Web Site). I went through it on a road trip front to back...and got a really good score. It would be worth your time and money.

4. There are three co-reqs (Nutrition, Bioethics, Pharmacology). If you can get them out of the way ahead of time...it will save you 10 credits you first semester.

If you have any other questions, let me know. I go to orientation tomorrow!

Great! Thank you very much and have fun at orientation. =)

Did you take your pre-reqs 1 at a time or how many did you take at a time? I have to work fulltime until I start so I'm trying to decide on how many I could take and still pull A's.

Thanks again for the list! I will print it out tomorrow and get started. =)

I had all but 2 of the pre-reqs done with my original degree (I was pre-med). I took the last two classes online through BSU while working full time. Also, if you have classes that may be similar to the pre-reqs you can petition to have them waived. Example: Microbiology lab is required, but I only took the class, but I had several other biology labs. I petitioned it and the lab was waived. During your advising, Micki will let you know what may be approved.

Good luck!
