You ever have a "run" of a certain patient symptom? Today, most of my patients retched and vomited. Now, I work in a recovery room so the odds are higher I know, but some days it seems that EVERY one has N/V!!!
I Zofraned my behind off today(And changed many patient gowns and beddings!). I just wonder if its normal to have these funky days on other units?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has noticed this! I work on med/surg and I'm not kidding when I say we had 12 CHF pts. out of about 21 pts. total. It seems like somedays it's all CHF or COPD. Probably because those are so common. Last year we had sooo many RSV babies that we ended up doubling them in rooms. Babies from the same family would end up with it!! I hate having so many n/v pts. especially when it's contributed to gastroenteritis. Last thing I want to do is be one of them.

OMgosh yes! That is tooo funny! I was just telling someone last week that it was "CODE BROWN DAY." Then I had another day like yours where everyone was nauseated. Enter the Zofran zone.... Yup. I know what you're talking about. That's weird. Is it full moon?

On my Rehab unit it seems that everyone who has been constipated chooses the same night, if not the same time to drop their load. One of my colleges says, " Oh, the UPS guy came today. . " As in, "the brown packages have been delivered". Sorry about the potty humor.
