Is this safe?

I have some serious concerns about the safety of the medications my infant son was prescribed.

My 5-month-old baby, 17.5lbs, was diagnosed with bronchiolitis and prescribed albuterol and Qvar (beclomethasone dipropionate HFA) 40mcg, two puffs of each medication via spacer BID. Qvar clearly states in my nursing drug book "do not use" with children under 5 years of age. The entry for albuterol states 4 years as the minimum. The pediatrician said to continue Qvar for at least two weeks. Does anyone have any knowledge about this medication being used in children so young? Should I get a second opinion from another pediatrician? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

P.S.-He was also prescribed Veramyst nasal spray.

I'm pretty sure that's something you need to claqrify with your pedi but I will tell you, I work in nicu and we use albuterol nebs all the time, not sure about the others though

I'm sorry that your child is ill. It is not unusual at all for small children to be prescribed medications that various resources state "no data for use in children" with few adverse effects.
