IR RN weekend call

Hello... I have a quick question.  Currently at my hospital we are a group of 5 IR RNs that rotate weekend call.  Our management is talking about instead of having call all weekend for emergency procedures, they are looking into scheduling us 4hrs on Sat and 4 hrs on Sunday with call before and after.  I think there thought is that they will be saving money since we won't be time and a half during those hours.  Do any other facilities work their weekend call like this?

A standard weekend entails us coming in sat and sun to do paperwork and then wait for procedures to be requested by the inpatient and ED physicians.  I think because we are doing required paperwork they want to group those takes into the scheduled times that they want us to work at regular time.  Does this so wacko? Or is it just me?

Thanks
