Introductions or Who we are

Rick posted a question for introductions that has been going on for quite a while. It is great (thank you CN35). I was unable to post to it so here I am trying a new topic mode and we will see if this works better... Here tis..

Bonnie here.. RN for 3 years... just finished my BSN in May. Done varied nursing from med/surg, oncology, neuro / ortho, HHC, Agency has allowed me to do telemetry and correctionall nursing, and am now in LTC (very unhappy in my job.... terrible institution and dishonest staff). Yes, the residents are wonderful but 40 patients for pill distribution is not very rewarding for me.

Love Nursing, looking for my nitch (possibly ER or ICU), have recently moved from a big city to a small community in Wyoming and it is slim picking for work. Thinking of trying a not too far off stint in Travel Nursing and looking at trying to settle in somewhere with a specialty (possibly ER or ICU).

Reading packets of travel companies these days and (here is where you can tell I am REALLY bored) been looking at graduate programs for an MSN in Nurse EDucator and NP.

Living with a wonderful life partner (S O... whatever the current term) have two beautiful children 10 and 13 and an ex-husband from *%ll.

This is a wonderful thread. I love reading about all the diversity and personal insights!

In peace and unity,

Bonnie

Hi. I did reply to Rick's original post, but there are so many, I don't know if mine's there or not. No matter.

I'm in my first year as a nursing student, just started this Monday. I'm working on my BSN. I figured at my age, I can't spend too much time going up the ladder.

I'm 45, married with three kids. My oldest is 15 and will be getting his learner's permit to drive next week (horrors!). And too many pets.

I decided to go back to school and into nursing because that's where I always felt I belonged, but because of one thing and another, it wasn't possible until now. I worked in the travel industry for years, not as a travel agent or airline employee, and I really hated being in a cubicle all day. The job itself held no real challenge for me.

Anyway, that's me in a nutshell.
