Intro

Hello and welcome!

Can't help you on the CLEP, but keep checking back alot of VERY helpful and friendly folks around here!

Hi everyone. I'm a 30 y/o mom of 1 from Baltimore, in my pre-clinicals Rn program. Last semester, I got my CNA license so that I can begin working in a hospital. Well, that's not working out the way I had hoped! Nobody seems to want to hire a CNA w/out experience. I have no clue WHY I had a clinical if that doesn't count as "experience, " but I'm not giving up! Just wanted to introduce myself. I already have my bachelor's, but needless to say, I'm re-taking many pre-req's, since I was hardly a serious student 10 years ago! This semester I'm taking Basic Math Concepts, and Human Growth 7 Development. I'm also going to try to "CLEP" out of Biology, so I can advance right onto A&P in t he summer. Has anyone ever taken a "CLEP" exam??

I really wanted to do bio110 this semster but every single class was filled by time i tried to register (and the director wasn't going to sign f/ a course overload) . I'll guess I'll have to take it in the summer. My friend is also a CNA she had trouble finding a job too, but she finally got one this week as a matter of fact. So don't give up. But anyway enough about me, welcome to allnurses . Hope u will come to love this site as I have. :)

Cool! What program are you in? Wherre did your friend get a job? My problem is I don't want to do geriatrics...Do you have to take Math083 before you can take your math pre-req? Couldn't you CLEp that?

I'm at CCBC but I only wish that I was in the actual nursing program already (just doing my pre reqs). yeah I have to take 083 before I can get into Math 111. Not sure if I could CLEP. Don't know if I would try since I am a visual when it comes to math. My friend didn't want to work in geratrics either but she ended up getting a job at Morningside .... assisted living I think. Hope your luck turns out better. Have you tried a placement agency?
