Interviewing questions?

What sorts of questions were you asked in your interview? Just curious because I'll be out applying very soon!

Featured Replies

Here're the interview questions that I gathered from my previous interviews:

1) Why do you want to be a nurse?

2) Why do you want to work in our unit?

3) What do you know about our hospital?

4) What are you strengths and weaknesses?

5) What do you see yourself in 5 years?

6) Why do we need to hire you?

7) If I asked your peers/coworkers, what would they say about you?

8) Would you prefer working as a team or by yourself?

9) If you have a very challenging patient, what would you do?

10) Have you made a mistake before? How did you solve it?

11) How would you solve a conflict with your coworkers?

12) Tell me a case scenario when you used your critical thinking

13) Have you discovered a patient with a change of condition and what did you do?

14) Where did you work for your preceptorship and how many hours?

15) Do you have any questions?

Excellent questions. I had read that sometimes they will also ask you clinical questions too! I just want to be as prepared as I can be and now I'll feel so much more confident by rehearsing some of my answers to your questions! Thanks :)

Today I was asked:

1) What would your preceptor/instructor say are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?

2) What 5 adjectives would you use to describe yourself?

3) Describe a time you felt you used good nursing judgment.

4) What do you do when you leave work to relieve stress?

5) Describe the qualities you look for in a nursing unit.

6) In a perfect world, what qualities would your coworkers have?

7) Since it's not a perfect world, how do you deal with coworkers you might not get along with?

8) How would someone who doesn't like you describe you? (That one was really hard, actually, not because I think I'm perfect or anything near it, but for some reason I had a rough time answering that one lol)

Oh and

9) How do you think you work under pressure?
