Hi,
I have an interview tomorrow for Postpartum position. I wanted to see if I could get some help with interview questions or some tips. I have been in Med/Surg for a year and graduated nursing school last year. I am a bit rusty with OB. Can anyone give me some pointers/tips. The hospital avg about 1200 births a year.
Thanks for your help! :)

One thing I would emphasize for the "why do you want to work in this area" question is your love of education! Postpartum is a LOT of educating, especially if it's just well moms and babies. That was one thing I actually didn't say in my interview and my interviewer (now boss) actually brought it up and prompted me about it. Luckily I still got the job. :) Also, look into if your hospital is "baby-friendly" or trying to get baby-friendly certified. If you can talk about baby-friendly requirements they will be impressed. Good luck!
Thank you, this was helpful. I'll check into the "baby friendly" :)
The interview went well. Here are some examplesof the questions asked. Give a time where you provided excellent service, give an example of conflict with another co-worker and how did you resolve it, give an example of something you felt was not correct or not helping the patient and what did you do to resolve It. I shadow next week.
I wanted to update this post. I was offered the position in Labor and Delivery. I'm very excited and it is such a great opportunity.
