I'm a nursing student and I have an interview for a nurse tech position on Monday. I am over the moon to be given the opportunity for an interview after spending over a year applying for various positions. This is my first interview for a health care facility and I'm exceedingly nervous. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice for the interview perhaps above the "typical" interview tips. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

1) Walk in confident and stay confident. 2) Speak with conviction. 3) Don't study or try to anticipate questions before hand. 4) Dress appropriately. 5) Be you. Nobody else.

I had an interview for a CNA position a few months back. I had next to no experience in healthcare but am starting nursing school in the spring. I first had a phone interview with HR, then background check and eventually I went into the facility for the face-to-face interview with the HR manager and head nurse. It was mainly an extension of the phone interview and what they called a behavioral type interview. I was expecting much worse but it was mainly giving other experiences I had to certain questions they would ask me. Most of them were like have you had to multi-task at a job in your past or give an example of a time when you went above and beyond what was expected of you at a job, etc etc. Guess it went well b/c they offered me the job within a few hours and I am currently going through with the training. Best of luck to you! I know it can be a challenge but I agree, just be yourself, talk a lot and be confident!
