I will be graduating in 2 weeks with my BSN (yay!) and I am on the job hunt. I applied for a job at a LTC facility and I have an interview scheduled for later this week. Most of my clinical time has been in the hospital setting on the med/surg floors so I am unsure of what my duties would be as an RN at a LTC facility. I haven't had the opportunity to see the job description yet (I'm sure that will be available to me at the interview) but I want to be prepared for questions that I will be asked. I'm sure my duties would include developing care plans and patient assesments but does anyone have any suggestions on how I can prepare for this interview? I would appreciate any help because I really need a job--dang student loans

I just graduated with my RN waiting to take boards. I used to work as an LPN in long term care. Its a wonderful enviorment to work in. You have more time to spend with the patients since it is their residence. You will become attached very quickly. Acute care and Long tem are night and day. RN's are gold in the nursing home scenery so im sure they are looking forward to getting you started ASAP. Good luck to you.
