I have an interview at the Raleigh School of Nurse Anesthesia in November. I would really appreciate any advice or insite from anybody who has interviewed there, especially current and former students.

Thanks in advance.

it's good to have the knowledge that CCRN tests..

also, know your drips (vasopressors)

and vents (basic stuff really)

i have found that ad-coms like to see what you would do in a clinical scenario.

i remember them asking me what i would do with a vented pt who was in somewhat of a shock state and what drips i would use, etc...

of course, it depends on how much clinical stuff ad-coms will ask you.

this depends on each program.

some don't even ask clinical-base questions.

I have to be at the school by 130pm for an informal orientation to the school. My interview is with the committee (5 people I think) and is not until 630pm. Is this common, as far as time between arrival to school and interview??? I will have to think of ways to keep fresh and be sharp for the interview portion. They have also sent me the student handbook to review and bring back on the day of the interview.

I think a key at RSNA as well as others. Is to be able to discern from the different programs in the area. RSNA is different than others in NC. So you are looking to convince them that you would prefer a program that gets you right into the OR opposed to a program like ECU that gives you 3 semesters of solid course work prior to diving in. From what I know of the program you will need to impress upon them your readiness in your current position in life to tackle this task. I think an added stress to RSNA is all the travelling that you will be doing as well as overnight clinicals as far away as New Bern & Wilmington. So as you have probably already scripted such an answer is that you see it a great benefit to get your experience all over the state opposed to one or two places.
