Interview for Frontier tomorrow!

I had applied late for the RN-MSN program that starts in December, and thought I would have to wait until February to even be considered, but I just received a phone call from the director of the bridge program. She wants me to call her in the morning for an interview!

I am SO nervous. Suddenly I have no idea what to say. This is really important to me. I know you all understand and many of you have gone through this process already. Any helpful tips would be appreciated. Thanks so much for being here! This is a great forum!

You'll do great! I just had my phone interview (also for the Dec admission class) last Thursday, and it went very well. She asked me the typical questions - why do I want to be a midwife, what type of practice do I foresee for myself after graduation, what are my strengths and weaknesses (as a student), how will I handle the stress of grad school/family/work. Thinkgs like that. Just be yourself - you'll do great!! And hopefully, we'll both be there in December!

Well, I had my interview! Dr. Voss was wonderful, it lasted almost 1/2 hour! She said I will still be considered for the December admission, even though my application was late. She also said there are about 45 applicants for the 20 bridge spots, although only 35 are really qualified. And she said I would hear by October 1st. She told me a lot about the program, which I found really exciting.

She explained that bridge students actually have a slight advantage over the BSN-MSN students, because they receive some special oversight and help with the distance learning process. I also learned that crossing the bridge is 4 days, which I couldn't find in the literature. She seems like a really great person to have for an instructor. She even put my mind at ease about statistics! I hope I get in!!! I am so excited to start now- I can't stand it! Thanks, everyone, for your input!:)

I knew that they only had 20 slots for ADN/MSN bridge, but I didn't realize there were 45 applicants! Yikes! I hope I get in!!

Jen, I'm sure you'll get in! You sound very qualified. She also mentioned that they put five people on the wait list, as well. So, I wonder what happens to the other ones? Do we have to reapply if we don't get in? I mean the entire application and fee, or do they hold it for the next term? UH! October 1st seems very far away!! Shannon
