Okay I graduated and earlier this week my school, ASU, sent my transcripts to the California Board of Nursing. Today I called the board and they said it will take about 3-6 weeks for an Interim Permit.I have been offered a position but I need the IP before I can start and waiting 3-6 weeks is not going to help financially. Does it really take 3-6 eeks and is there any way to speed the process up?

3- 6 weeks for IP is about right.
Anyway to speed this process up? I start next week and need this or my start date wil be prolonged due to not having the IP.

Sorry, but there is no way at all to speed up the process. The interim permit is only granted when they have completed your credentials verification, and they do their own. The IP means that you have met all licensing requirements except for writing and passing the NCLEX exam.
I personally would call it a blessing in disguise. How are you going to prepare for the exam, and start a new position and have to study all that you need for your job, as well as the for the EXAM? You would be much better off taking the exam and gettign it done and out of the way. The other issue is if you do not pass the exam, and start your job, you could losr your job. Many states no longer issue the IP, and I agree with them.
You will be moving to a new area, anfd trying to get settled. You are adding too much to an already full plate. Nothing will speed up the BRN, nor can any one try to get them to move faster.
Too late now, but your much faster route would have been to get licensed in AZ, since you went to an AZ school, or which ever state, and then just endorse to CA, you can get a temporary permit the same day if you go to Sacramento. And you would have had everything done in most cases.
