Intensity of an RN-MSN Program

I'm currently working on my ADN. I have 3 more semesters to go before I graduate & can obtain RN licensure. However, I am realizing that holding a BSN degree will be the minimum requirement for our field in coming years. That being said, I am looking to apply to an RN-BSN program upon graduation from the current program I am in. I would really like to get my MSN after that. However, I am married and in the next few years my husband and I will be ready to start a family. I am looking to complete such programs within the next 3 - 3.5 years (less time would be even better). However, realistically I will need to work full-time, but I want to complete my degree ASAP so that we can start our family. I know that many of you have successfully completed your degrees while raising children, but I just don't think I can do that, as I already have so much on my plate. So, I guess I'd like to hear from RNs who have completed a RN-BSN or MSN program at a point in their lives similar to mine with obligations/ responsibilities similar to mine. According to the college who's RN-BSN program I'm looking into, the program can be completed in as little as 18 months while working full time. However, I am wondering how realistic that is when one has other commitments such as marital responsibilities, taking care of a house, not to mention extended-family obligations & trying to maintain some degree of a social life... I would really like to hear from those who have done it! How long did it take you to complete? What kind of strains did it put on your personal life? How did you balance a program of this intensity, working full time, and a marriage/ personal obligations? I need to hear about others' experiences to make an informed decision about what programs would be best for me, & get me the fastest results. Thank you for your input!:nurse:
