Hi everyone, I'm new to this wonderful site and thought I'd ask for some inspiration. I'm in my last semester of school set to graduate in May. While I'm happy to be in my last semester and looking forward to graduating, I am also finding I'm feeling more anxious and nervous then ever, and having a hard time getting into my studies and the swing of things. I think I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed with studying for school and starting to review for the NCLEX. I also do tech work and the past couple of weeks the floor has been short staffed and it's just been crazy. While I'm nervous about the NCLEX I feel more nervous about actually going out and beginning to work. Will I be able to handle it, will I be a "good nurse"? I also am concerned about training, and I'm praying wherever I take a job I will get hooked in with a good preceptor. IN any case, if any one has any positive stories to share about graduating and beginning work and facing all the beginning fears, I'd love to hear them. Just feel like I need a little inspiration to keep me going.
thanks in advance! Cindy

These fears and feelings are very normal, so please don't feel bad about having them. I was plauged with a lot of doubts and fears my first year or so, constantly questioning whether I made the right decision, and longing for the days when all I had were the tech duties.
That was 14 years ago and I survived. You can too.
Sometimes you just have to feel your feelings and walk through them, realizing you've made it this far, and you wouldn't have made it this far if you didn't have what it takes to be a good nurse.
Thank you! Sometimes you just need to "hear" things like that to keep pushing you forward. :)
