Informing advisor...

So, I've been accepted into 1 of 2 programs I applied to. The 2nd program I will not hear until May -_-

My first meeting with my advisor is sometime this month. Do I inform her that I am still awaiting a decision from school 2 just to give her a heads up? I only applied to 2 schools and I did NOT want to decline school 1 due to the fact that I may not get into school 2 (preferable school).

thanks!

First off, CONGRATS!

BTW, I am in the same boat as you and chose to tell the first school the situation (expect, I applied to 3 schools and waiting on the last two). They know and understand that most prospective students will apply to multiple schools. I personally would let her know and inquire about the options you may have, as far as, deadlines and fees.

Good luck to ya!

Thanks so much! I feel my advisor will be understanding; she seems very nice.

Though I have yet to personally speak with her, haha.

However, this first university gave me such a short time frame to accept (like a week) though the start date isn't until Fall 16! I feel that is terribly unfair. But, oh well...it is what it is.

Thanks again! Good luck to you as well!
