Hi everyone does anyone know where you can get the cards that tell you an infant's neutral thermal environment by weight and gestation? My preceptor has one from our hospital but they gave them out 20 years ago. I want my own anyway. Also does anyone know of any books with some practice nicu math like hourly iv rates.

Can't help you with the card... I can't find any either. Any medication calc book has the calculation for hourly rates in it... you don't need a NICU book. I would invest in a Neofax, though!

A quick "google" of "isolette nte chart" brought me to this :

As far as hourly IV rates...neofax would be helpful. But basically fluids are calculated based on a number of variables: age, weight, medical problems (PDA, Phototherapy, etc.)
