I'm new here!

good day all, this is my first post. i'm a nurse @ a clinic in minnesota. i enjoy most aspects of my job, and have been doing it for 8 years. my question is to anyone who has experience in grief/cancer. i feel completely comfortable with our patients, and most know me by name. the only time i get uncomfortable in my job is when i have a patient with either a new terminal diagnosis or recent loss. i just don't know what to say! i tell them i'm sorry, and listen, but before you know it, i'm tearful. i don't want them to have to comfort me. any advice, comments, suggestions, and anecdotes would be greatly appreciated! thanks~
