:heartbeat Ok, so i spent the first 4 years after high school in the marine corps, stupidly i didn't take advantage of the 100% TA they offered and i did absolutely nothing concerning my education. I had thought about joining the Navy in HS just bcuz i knew eventually i wanted to be a nurse and i thought i'd do the medic thing ..but i went to the corps instead. In the last 4 months i've been taking care of my 8 month old daughter. In september hubby gets out of the Marines and we're going to move back to Houston where he's from ... I picked out the school i want to go to for my ADN already and looked up their prereqs and stuff, so i'm going to community college this summer to do those so when we move to Houston i can apply to school. After RN i'm going to do my MSN ... anyways, my main question is can someone help me out with mayb material or books i can read up on b4 i apply to school so i can get a leg up. I don't have much knowledge in this area ... besides the first aid stuff they teach in the military and combat life savers course i took 4 years ago ... i did learn to do an IV> so something that will get me familiar with lingo or anything else would be great! TIA! ... also what comes after school? can you work right away or do you have to do internships???
