ICU internships

With no hospital/clinical experience and the goal of obtaining a CRNA degree, I have been looking into area hospitals nursing internships. Has anyone done one of these internships?? How was it? Did they teach you the skills needed to function well in the ICU? Were you paid? Were you paid well? Having been in an administrative role for so long I am really looking forward to getting back into some hands on nursing!!
