I NEED HELP. Taking NCLEX 2nd time

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi guys, im taking my NCLEX (again) on may 12. I took my first test last March 26. i really need your help guys. I dont want to fail again. anyway, the first time i took the NCLEX i reviewed kaplan on demand last year august to november thinking my ATT will be out on december. I know i made the wrong decision enrolling in kaplan before my ATT comes. so after kaplan i studied saunders Q&A, they have handful of easy questions i know, i get like 70-80% all the time which made me feel REALLY confident. Come march 7, 2015 my ATT was out and scheduled my exam 2 weeks after. I thought i passed with 98 questions, got 15 SATAS, 1 ekg, tons of conference and prioritizations. after 2 days i learned that i failed. so, i took a break for a weekand started studying again. i enrolled in NCSBN 5 wks, kaplan qbank only and started reading saunders 5th ed.

I dont know if im going to pass again this time, i kept studying day and night NCSBN in the morning, saunders in the afternoon then kaplan at night. My scores in NCSBN are really bad like 50-60%. i know the NCSBN questions are wayyy harder. In kaplan qbank my lowest score is 63% and highest is 71%. I know that scores are not important, you just have to understand the rationales. i really dont feel confident. i get frustrated because of my scores in qbank and NCSBN. im taking my test in a few weeks please please give me advice. i know i should practice more but what else do I have to do? ive been tracking my weak areas, sometimes i get high like 100% in for example management of care, then the second test it will be 50% then the third one will be 80% its so confusing. i need help guys :( i really want to kill this NCLEX beast

I failed on my first try with saunders and google. Passed with saunders, ncsbn, lacharity, and nclex mastery app on my second attempt. Scored about the same on ncsbn. Lacharity helped me a lot with the prioritization qs. About a week to go before the exam I buy the nclex mastery app for my phone. The questions are very good, lots of difficult satas and it keeps track of your progress.

Buying lacharity was probably the best decision I made...

First off, STOP worrying about your testing scores! It is not the end of the world if your scores are not the way they are. Like you said, as long as you understand the rationales and WHY they chose that answer...that's all that matters.

Realistically, you will never totally feel confident but if you don't have faith in yourself, you will never pass! When you work as a real nurse, you will need to have faith in your critical thinking and your judgment. Think smart, NOT hard. Know your content before you can answer questions.

Remember, NCLEX IS POSSIBLE!

Have faith, be positive, and have confidence.

Thanks kdoolay! I have been going over my content again. i hope reading content will help me on my next one.

thanks for the advice comebackkid, did NCSBN help you alot?

I'm also in the same boat as you. I'm getting NCSBN scores like 50-60% sometimes 70%, but I realized I shouldn't think too much with the scores and just really focus on reading the rationales. I even write the rationales in a notebook so I can read it weeks before my exam. We got this!!

I am sure it will but utilize that content and tackle questions! I heard NCSBN review is great with content and questions and is pretty affordable depending how many weeks you pick. Also, testing-strategies are way important to help prioritize your answers if necessary!
