Get into a good Associate Degree in SCIENCE (important SCIENCE not ART) nursing program that has a career ladder. I mean you can take your LPN test after the first year, then work as an LPN while you finish your ADN. Then, bridge from ADN to BSN. Several universities in Texas do it. University of Oklahoma has a huge class of bridging students. It is a good and economical way to go. I did it. I was also a single mom for awhile. I have been a nurse 27 years, but finished my BSN 3 years ago with three kids at home--young kids--and then started the master's this year. Good luck!
