I need some help!

Hello,

I am not a nurse, I am a Radiology Manager. My daughter is a third year nursing student (BSRN Program) who failed a spring semester course entitled "Nursing Care of the Family in Illness 1". There is a clinical component to the class that will be retaken this summer to satisfy a part of the class. However, here is the problem...the College is telling her to find the didactic portion of the class (either on-line or at a University) since they do not offer the class during the summer. We have exhausted not only a list of Colleges that they have given her but have made numerous other attempts (both on-line and local) to find a class with no success. The feedback we are getting is that either the Colleges will only accept their own students into the classes or else on-line courses are only given to individuals with LPN's working towards their RN. I wanted to ask this very large forum of nurses if they know of any classes in the NYC area or on-line that may satisfy a class with a course description as follows:

"The nursing process is used in the promotion and restoration of health of those individuals who are experiencing an alterartion in cellular function and growth, oxygenation, metabolic, and sexual functions"

Thank you so very much for any replies.

Only thing I can think of is contacting your State Board of Nursing and see if they know. I know my state has references to many classes needed that you can take online or in person for both students and RN/LPN/CNA's.

Other than that I have no idea...being in Oregon, I don't have much knowledge of the courses or what not in NY. Hope this is somewhat helpful.
