Hey guys!
I had an amazing experience with my nurses while at work last night and I wanted to brag about my wonderful nurses and extend my thanks to those of you who are these types of nurses
I'm a tech and I float to most of the floors in my local hospital. I've been off orientation for awhile, but about a week ago I floated to a floor I never oriented on. Needless to say, my nurses were amazing.
It's refreshing to have a nurse who doesn't just leave "tech work" to the techs. If a patient was wet they didn't leave them for me to find, which was wonderful. I hear all the time techs and CNAs say how nurses abuse them and over use them. I can say that last night I felt like part of the team and not just some slave to do the dirty work.
Since I was new on this floor the nurses were patient with me finding where supply rooms were and just helping me settle into the routine. What was so wonderful is that it wasn't just one nurse or even that unit. All the nurses (for the most part) at this hospital are absolutely wonderful. And because I'm a nursing student they even let me watch in on some of the cool procedures.
To all you nurses you treat your techs with respect and work with them as a team member, you are well appreciated. We all realize how busy a nurses role is, but it means so much to us as techs and CNAs to not walk in on a patient who has been sitting wet for an hour or been waiting to go to the bathroom for a long time.
Once again, thanks to all you wonderful nurses! You allow us to enjoy our jobs! :heartbeat

Thats a floor you need to keep your eye on for RN opportunities after you graduate. When you have understanding, helpful, and cooperative co-workers life is MUCH easier at work and it sounds like you have the same cooperative attitude they do and would fit in well.

I'm happy for you! The nurses on the floor where I worked as a student nurse (and now work as an RN) were the same way. Now, I try to make help our student nurses and CNAs who are in nursing school have as many educational experiences as possible, too.
