How to study Medications!!!!!!!

Hi everybody ,

I'm a chinese nurse, i really have trouble to study medications.

Please give me some idea to study it. I want to purchase KAPLAN'S medication flash card, but i don't know that helpful or not?

I took the RN exam last month, i didn't pass it. The letter from board said that my Pharmacological part is below passing standard.

3 below passing standard :

physiological adaptation ,

pharmacologcal,

basic care and comfort

4 near passingf standard:

management of care,

psychosocoal integrity,

reducton of risk potential

health promotion and maintenance

only 1 above passing standard:

safety and infection control

 I only have 1 part above passing standard. I used Saunders, and i did Kaplan's 7 QT. what else i should study now:banghead:??? please help!!

How did you use Saunder's? Just for the questions? or for the content?

Both, content and questions!!! But questions on CD I did about 2000. not all of them.

I would recommend checking out Suzanne's Plan using Saunder's 4th edition, and do about 5-10 medications per day. You can do it...be positive and stick to studying (with breaks)!

the way i studied the medications was by grouping them in their categories, then study the most life threning side effects followed by the most common..... that's my advice to you.
