your college will give you a packet -- a state board of nursing licencure application (with mine that was a 130$ fee)

and a pearson testing registration application (you can do this one online and its MUCH faster! -- 200$ fee for this one)

Turn both of these in-- you will turn in your board of nursing application without the transcript because the deadline to get this in is "60 days before the first day of the month in which you wish to test"

The board of nursing will send you a notice saying all they are waiting for is your transcripts

Turn in your transcripts when you get them (i overnighted mine to get them there fast!!!)

Make sure your registered with pearson testing by this time, once they recieve your transcript and make you eligable -- they tell pearson to send you an ATT -- if you have registered with pearson and paid by this time (do it online!) they will send you an ATT by mail or by email (if you provide an email while registering this makes it faster!!!!!!)

mine only took about a day to recieve once they got my ATT (pearson is really quick) make sure you apply and register in a timely fashion, this can hold you up

Using your ATT either call pearson or go on their website and set up a date (there are alot of dates avaliable!)

I did mine online and it is a breeze!!

Print off the confirmation of date/time of testing etc etc.

bring id and att with you testing day

they will finger print you

they will take your picture

make sure your licence isnt expired!!! -- they wont take it

make sure all your info matches the id!! -- they will give you trouble

go take it! good luck!!

This info is all true for the state of virginia, depending on which state you are in the fee's and time limits may be different. This is the proscess i went through.
