Hi everyone,

I would like to start LPN school in the next year or so. What classes should I take to prepare beforehand?

Thanks. Maria

Well depending on what school you are going to and what pre-reqs they require. You dont want to go an take a bunch of classes and find out they dont count for the program. But generally you would probably need...Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology ( I would make sure yours has a lab with it. Some schools here dont have a lab with it and if u want to eventually go on the RN, it needs to have a lab and u may have to take over at later time) Otherwise, Interpersonal communications might not be a bad Idea and college level writing class. Make sure your Arithmatic and Elementary alegebra is good. Because you will have to take a medical dosage class probably. Im not sure if you are already one. But get your CNA/NAR.

I just finished LPN school, and passed boards last month in case you were wondering.

Thanks Ella! I's want to apply to a couple schools here in Delware County/Philadelphia area. I hear they're really good. So, I'd like to be prepared. I like the ideas of A and P class with lab and get them doen and over with. I figure about a year to prepare?
