How many agencies to work with?

How many agencies are you working with? How many should you work with? I think I may have to increase. Exclusively I am with two. I know it gets complicated and I can just hope that they are telling me who they are submitting me to before submitting me. But so far I am not having a lot of luck and Blythe recruiters are nice but they are definitely like a used car dealership...they could sell you a rotten apple and make it seem nice enough to buy and eat.

I think the hardest part is finding a good recruiter. If you don't feel like they are working for your best interest I wouldn't use them or their company. I had one recruiter trying to get me to go to a job to work by myself with only a year's nursing experience. He tried countless times to get me to go. Needless to say I didn't and I'm glad! I spoke with another recruiter who gave me a fantastic assignment with great living expenses and a place to live. This was years ago but I would say go with your gut. Some of the companies only let you work exclusively with them but I would say do what you have to do to get yourself the opportunities!

If a company tells you that you can only work exclusively for them, MOVE ON! I have been with three national agencies and one regional (NY State/NJ) agency. It CAN get confusing when you're looking for your next assignment, but it's always best to work with a few agencies to compare offers. Good luck!
