How to enter l&d

I have been a pediatric operating room nurse for the last 4 1/2 years and have recently crosstrained to the pre-op and post-op units. I find that I am very unfulfilled and would dearly love to get into labor and delivery. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get my "foot in the door". I know that I will most likely have to start working nights, but am willing to sacrifice my nice little day shifts for the opportunity. Would appreciate any help that may be out there.

One of the best things to do is talk with the nurse manager of the L&D unit, and let them know you're interested!! With your OR experience you probably have NALS/PALS certification....a BIG plus!! Good luck to you! Feel free to e-mail me if I can be of any assistance!!
