How Does the TEAs Score Work?

Hi.. I'm hoping someone can explain to me how the scoring works? I have to take the TEAs test next week and my school requires I pass the test with a 67 or above. Does that mean an overall score of 67 or 67 in each section of the test? I just took the online assessment on ATI and I did fine in all of the areas except for Science. I think I only got a 50 in the Science portion. If this were my actual test would that mean I failed because of Science or would my Individual adjusted score be enough? Thanks!

It depends on the school. Some schools only care about the over all, others focus on math and science.

Also, just because your school only requires 67 for application doesn't mean you shouldn't do the best you can. If you're applying to a competitive program (and which ones aren't these days?) the final selection will be in the neighborhood of one out of every five to eight applicants which means that the REAL minimum for consideration is probably in the neighborhood of 85+, and I am estimating.

Thanks for your reply. I actually already got into an RN program, now I have to take the TEAs to enroll and that is where they state the 67%. I was just confused on if it's the total score or not?

I just took the teas test for the Nursing Program at GWC. The way it was scored was an overall grade of 67% or above was passing. I don't know if this is true for all schools.

Lisie,

I'm sorry, I guess I misunderstood you...lol.

Yeah, if you've already met the requirements and been accepted into a program then scoring adequately on the TEAS should be a piece of cake for you whatever they're looking for.

Anybody who's spent a semester or two in college and has taken math, english and one or more 100 level life science should do very well on it.
