How did you break into the market?

Hi everyone! I am getting ready to enter my junior year of nursing school. So far, I have a solid 4.0 and am a member of the Honor's College, where I'll be doing clinical research. I currently attend school in SC but am very interested in moving to NYC (isn't everyone?). I know the market is very hard to break into, but it can't be impossible.

What is the best way for me to get a job up there after I graduate? I am willing to work ANYWHERE, including ambulatory/geriatric care. I'm just so overwhelmed because it seems like every hospital makes the application process so confusing, and everyone who I've seen get a new grad job is working somewhere I haven't seen before.

Any advice would be appreciated!
