Housing

Does anyone have an experience with nursing students as roommates? I want to rent a room or a house with fellow classmates and I am wondering if that is a good idea... what do you think?

Hello,

That's a difficult question to answer as people have a variety of experiences. It could turn out to be the best or the worst decision.

I like stability, so I would recommend to stick with something you can afford by yourself. Nursing school is grueling and if your roommate cannot handle the pressure or fails a course or two, they will probably move out in the middle of the lease. You would then be solely responsible for the rent to the landlord. Yes, you may pursue legal action to recover losses from the one who leaves, but that takes time and you would also need to look for a new roommate and prove in court how long it took you to replace the roommate so the judge can make a determination the amount of your damages.

If you can find, trust, and be 100% sure your roommate will stick with you throughout the lease no matter what happens with school... then more power to you. I would be very cautious though (that's just me).

Hope this helps.
