Hopefully starting LPN Program in the Fall

Published

Hello everyone! I have been a member for quite some time now, but this is my 1st post. I joined a few years ago thinking that I was going to be able to the ASN program offered where I live, but ended up not being able to go due to work obligations. I have always wanted to be a Nurse and I am going to give it a try again and go for a shorter program that is offered here. The LPN program is 3 semesters.

I am planning on not working so I can focus on school full time and not have the stress of a job. I am finally in a position where we can do that financially. I am so excited, but yet a little worried if I will be able to successfully pass the program. I am 33 years old and will be 34 when I start. Do you think I am "too old"? lol

Your definitely not too old. I'm 42 and just starting my LPN to RN in October. So good luck!! :)

Specializes in Ambulatory Care, Clinical Care Coordination, LTC.

Too old? No way! I turned 35 in December and finish up my PN program this summer. I was surprised by the age diversity in my class (pleasantly!)

Good luck:)

Thanks! I am so nervous. I want to succeed so bad!! I am quitting my job because I want to be able to devote all the time needed to the courses. I keep telling myself it is only 3 semesters...you can do it, you can do it! Of course, I have the good 'ole "What if?" in my ear.

I'm 32 and just got accepted to an LPN program here in Northeast Oklahoma. I was a little worried about getting a late start as well. However, looking at posts here and talking to some friends that are nurses helped reassure me.

Now I'm excited to start finally, my class begins march 1st. Looking to eventually bridge my LPN to a BSN at OU.

You're never too old to get an education for yourself. I'm 31 and will be 32 later this year and I'm just now getting somewhere in my life. Education does not have an age to it and you should have to attach an age to it.

I'm 33 and I will be starting my LPN program this fall!! Never too old

I'm 46 and start my program in the Fall! It's never too late and your never too old!!! Good luck, you can do it!!!
